Clear areas and white areas do different jobs
Unprinted clear film allows the background to show through. A colored graphic without a white underprint may look different on a dark bottle, an amber jar or a container filled with colored liquid. Treat the container color as part of the artwork review rather than judging the design only on a white screen.
Discuss white ink under selected text, logos or color areas when they need more coverage. White is not automatically required across the whole label: a full white background would reduce the transparent effect. Agree the intended clear and covered areas with the printer before artwork approval.
Show white ink separately from the cut outline
Supply the color artwork, intended white-print areas and finished cut outline as distinguishable elements in the agreed file format. Ask for the printer's naming and layer requirements; there is no universal spot-color name that every workflow uses. Explain whether white is visible artwork or a backing beneath color.
Keep essential text and codes away from the cut edge using the agreed safe area. Bleed, white-layer adjustment, registration allowance and minimum detail sizes depend on the design and production process. Have these checked instead of applying an unconfirmed numeric setting.
Match the label to the bottle and use conditions
Identify the container material, surface coating, texture and curve. Show the filled packaging and say whether it will be squeezed, chilled, wiped or exposed to condensation. Application temperature and later storage conditions are separate details. Film appearance alone does not establish adhesive suitability or water resistance.
Check text contrast, adhesive appearance and edge contact on the actual container. A digital artwork proof is useful for reviewing layout, but it does not reproduce every material, color or adhesion effect. Agree how samples will be assessed for the intended packaging.
What to send for a custom clear label quote
Send finished width and height with units, the outline shape, artwork and quantity per design. Mark clear, white and color areas, attach container photos and describe the use conditions. If supplied on rolls, include core inner diameter, maximum roll diameter, labels per roll and unwind direction or the applicator requirements.
For a U.S. destination, include the state and ZIP code so shipping can be reviewed. Senluo Printing produces custom labels in Yueqing, Zhejiang, China. Material construction, printing method, minimum quantity, sampling, cost and delivery timing are confirmed for the individual project.
